Job Description

The Spa at Ye Olde Bell is a multi-million pound, luxury day spa which opened alongside Ye Olde Bell Hotel in Barnby Moor June 2017. The spa benefits from 11 thermal experiences, has its own herb garden brasserie as well as 6 therapist treatment rooms including 2 doubles.

We are currently looking for a full time receptionist to join our spa team working on a shift basis that will include

weekday, evening and weekend work.



Our reception team is the first point of contact when people first enquire about the Spa. We are looking for a well organised and dynamic individual that will offer exceptional customer service to join our team.

Key Responsibilities



Deliver an exceptional guest experience at reception and throughout the Spa at all times. Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries via phone, email, social media, and face-to-face. Take and manage spa treatments, spa days, and residential bookings accurately. Liaise with the hotel and other departments as required. Ensure guest data is accurately captured and updated in the system in a timely manner. Conduct show rounds for prospective guests, providing clear and relevant information about the Spa. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all spa treatments, services, and products. Assist guests with questions or issues, ensuring all queries are resolved and followed up positively. Keep all front-of-house areas clean, tidy, and presentable at all times. Stay informed of daily operations, events, and any changes to procedures. Demonstrate full knowledge of the company, hotel history, amenities, and all services offered. Complete all reception and administrative duties to a high standard, including end-of-day balancing and processing voucher and brochure enquiries. Work collaboratively with and support other spa departments whenever possible. Adhere to all company standard operating procedures. Represent the Spa professionally by wearing the correct uniform with a visible name badge at all times.

Essential Requirements



A helpful, positive attitude toward guests and colleagues, ideally with experience in a customer-focused environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Confidence in taking ownership of guest queries and knowing when to seek assistance. Strong communication skills across phone, face-to-face, email, and social media channels. Ability to remain calm, positive, and organised while multitasking in a busy environment. Professional appearance and behaviour that reflects the values of the Spa. Excellent timekeeping, reliability, and attendance. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Competent computer and system skills including but not limited to Word and Excel
