Job Description

As a Receptionist, you will be the welcoming face of Life Leisure, playing a key role in delivering our purpose: to improve the lives of others. You'll be responsible for creating a warm, professional, and efficient front-of-house experience that reflects our WATCH principles.

You will promote Life Leisure's services and activities, connect with customers and colleagues to build positive relationships, and provide accurate information and support to ensure every visitor feels valued and informed. Your role will help ensure our hubs run smoothly and that every interaction contributes to a healthier, more active community.

Hours: Full Time, 37 per week

Location: Life Leisure Grand Central

Salary: 23,709

Experience relevant to the role



Essential

Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in a fast-paced environment Experience using digital booking or CRM systems Experience handling payments and managing basic financial transactions
Desirable

Experience supporting customers with diverse needs Experience in a community, leisure, or wellbeing setting Experience using social media or digital tools to support customer engagement

Education and qualifications



Essential

Minimum of 3 GCSE's including Maths and English
Desirable

Customer service qualification First Aid trained

Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and transactions Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively Commitment to inclusivity and excellent customer service

Job duties:



Be the friendly face that makes every visitor feel instantly welcome whether they're a regular or it's their first time through the door. Handle bookings, memberships, and payments with confidence and care. You'll keep things running smoothly and spot when someone needs a bit of extra help. Chat with customers, answer questions, and point them in the right direction - in person, on the phone, or online. Keep reception looking sharp and feeling safe. Tidy desk, clear info, good vibes. Help customers get to grips with our app and online tools: no jargon, just simple support. Back up your Duty Managers with admin tasks and social media bits, snapping pics, sharing updates or helping us stay connected with our community. Know what's going on across the hub so you can shout about our services and signpost people to what they need. Stick to our policies around safeguarding, health & safety and data protection, because trust and safety matter.
