Registered Manager - Full Time - Daycare of Children



HOURS:

Full Time 37.5 hrs per week, permanent



(including alternate weekends and one weekday during term time. Working days during holiday periods are flexible and can be negotiated)

SALARY: 29,997.05 to 33,188.22 per annum, pro rata based on experience and qualifications

GENERAL PURPOSE



The Registered Manager is a key member of A-ND's Leadership Team, primarily responsible for the daily operational management of the Daycare of Children Service in Aberdeen. This role ensures that services align with A-ND's strategic objectives while fostering a supportive and enriching environment for autistic and neurodivergent children, young people, and adults.

Working closely with the Head of Operations and the Business Support Team, the Registered Manager will contribute to both service-specific functions and the wider leadership of the organisation. Key responsibilities include supervising and supporting staff to deliver high-quality care, promoting best practices, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

As the Playscheme primarily operates on weekends, this role is supernumerary but includes oversight of the Playscheme on alternate weekends, with dedicated administrative time allocated during the week. Additionally, the position includes shared on-call duties as part of the leadership team.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



To register with the SSSC as appropriate and maintain post-registration training and learning log to meet ongoing registration requirements.

To register with the Care Inspectorate assuming all associated duties as registered manager for our Aberdeen Playscheme.

To independently coordinate and manage the referral and selection process for individuals and services whilst reporting directly to the Head of Operations.

To independently coordinate the implementation of appropriate personalised Personal plans for people we support, ensuring they are at the centre and involved in decisions about their own support.

To independently coordinate and implement Outcome Star / Outcomes for the people we support.

To provide direct one to one and group support to autistic and neurodivergent people and their families.

To directly line manage the team.

To support individuals using our services are enabled to enhance their social interaction, communication, and independence skills, supporting the effective monitoring, evaluation and evidencing of outcomes.

To independently coordinate the organisation and deployment of operational staff, providing quality and appropriate support, in line with Service Level Agreements.

To independently manage and coordinate the effective management of operational staff, including practice conduct, absence, support and supervision, and regular team meetings.

To independently contribute in the on-call support to operational staff, fully taking part in the organisations on-call out of hours rota.

To independently coordinate operational staff to understand and follow policies, procedures, CI Quality Framework and SSSC Codes of Practice.

To independently manage to work positively and effectively with other members of the team and liaise effectively with families, agencies, colleagues, stakeholders and partners to foster long term relationships.

To independently provide representation for individuals using our services at formal meetings and reviews.

To independently coordinate and represent A-ND, at planning meetings with Local Authority representatives, promoting positive professional and public awareness of our services and organisation.

To independently coordinate individuals using our services are involved in service delivery and design.

To independently manage and coordinate the planning, designing and management of outings and activities for individuals using our services.

To independently manage agreed standards of service delivery, policies and procedures follow relevant legislation, CI Quality Framework, National Care Standards and purchaser requirements along with the leadership team

To independently manage and coordinate implementation of risk assessments and management strategies for operational services in line with the organisation.

To undertake any other tasks as may be reasonably requested and required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION



Qualifications



Essential



Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 9 PDA Childhood Practice SCQF Level 9 or equivalent, as defined by the SSSC. Or a willingness & ability to achieve.

SVQ 4 in Leadership and Management for Care Services or equivalent, as defined by the SSSC, or willingness and ability to achieve.

Relevant children and young people training / Adult qualification, as defined by the SSSC for children and young people day care services.

Driving License and access to own car

Desirable



BA Childhood Practice, PG Diploma Childhood Practice, Master of Education Childhood Practice, PDA Childhood Practice (SCQF Levell 9) or equivalent, as defined by the SSSC, or willingness and ability to achieve

Autism specific Qualification

Essential



Experience of management within a social care setting

Supervisory experience, leading and motivating a staff team

Good understanding of Autism, neurodiversity and specific practice and approaches

Rota management

Budget Management

Risk Assessment / Health and Safety experience in a Daycare of Children Setting
