Hours: 18 hours per week (Wednesday to Friday)

Palms Day Care Centre is a well-established, community-based adult day care service supporting older people and adults with additional and complex needs. We are seeking a Registered Manager to provide professional leadership, regulatory oversight and operational management of the service.

This is a part-time leadership role, suitable for an experienced health or social care professional who meets RQIA and Southern Health & Social Care Trust requirements for Registered Manager status and is looking to work within a stable, values-led service with clear governance and organisational support.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will hold overall accountability for the quality, safety and effectiveness of the Palms Day Care service, ensuring compliance with RQIA Regulations, Day Care Standards, Southern Trust contractual requirements and SPCA policies and procedures.

The scope of responsibility is proportionate to the part-time hours and supported through clear management structures, with close working and regular communication with the Jethro Centre Manager.

This role may particularly suit an experienced health or social care professional seeking a part-time leadership position with clearly defined hours and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and operational management of Palms Day Care Centre Ensure compliance with RQIA Regulations, Day Care Standards, NISCC requirements and adhere to SHSCT policies and procedure's Oversee person-centred assessment, care planning and regular review of service users Ensure robust systems are in place for safeguarding, medication management, risk assessment and incident reporting Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation in line with regulatory requirements Lead and participate in staff supervision, performance review and development Manage staffing arrangements to ensure safe and appropriate levels of care delivery Liaise effectively with Southern Health & Social Care Trust staff, social workers, families and other professionals Contribute to inspections, audits, Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) and ongoing service development Ensure serious incidents or concerns are escalated promptly in line with SPCA procedures Support the development of Palms Day Care, including effective utilisation of contracted places and private provision Hands-on involvement in care delivery, including personal care, may be required on an exceptional basis to ensure service continuity and safety.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have

A qualification and professional registration that meets RQIA and Southern Health & Social Care Trust requirements for a Registered Manager of an adult day care service, for example:

Professional Social Work qualification (NISCC registered), or First level nursing registration,or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
A minimum of 4 years' experience working within a health or social care setting

Experience in a management or supervisory role within a community or professional care environment

Sound working knowledge of safeguarding, person-centred care and regulatory compliance

Access to transport for duties associated with the role

Experience working with volunteers (desirable)
