Registered Manager | Solo Placement | Children's Residential Care
Location: East Midlands
Salary: 45,000-55,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Are you a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager ready to lead a stable children's home moving into a solo complex mental health model?
S.N.G Healthcare is supporting a children's residential care provider to appoint a Registered Manager for a 2-bed home transitioning into a solo placement service for young people with complex trauma and mental health needs.
This is a fully staffed home with no agency use. A young person has already been matched and is transitioning from a secure unit. The service has 3:1 support mapped out, Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) input on rota, and psychologist sessions planned for both the young person and the team.
Due to unavoidable delays, the home has been without a Registered Manager for some time. Senior leadership has remained fully involved throughout, and now they're ready to appoint the right person to take the service forward.
As Registered Manager, you will:
Lead a solo placement model for children with complex needs and mental health presentations
Work closely with a well-established team and clinical partners (RMN + psychologist)
Ensure compliance and readiness for future Ofsted inspections
Create a stable, values-led culture that supports both the child and the staff team
Take full ownership of staffing, rota planning, safeguarding, and documentation
Support a calm, therapeutic environment with consistent oversight and development
To be considered, you will need:
NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or working towards it)
Prior experience in a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager role within children's residential care
Strong understanding of Ofsted-regulated services and trauma-informed care
Experience managing solo or high-risk placements is desirable
Up-to-date safeguarding and regulatory knowledge
A commitment to building something long-term, not just holding the title
What's on offer:
45,000-55,000 salary (based on experience)
Monthly wellness activities (e.g., team walks, massages)
Supportive RI and Ops Director, both with direct residential experience
Clinical wraparound already in place
Opportunity to lead a service that's ready to go, not one that needs rescuing
If you're looking for a service you can take ownership of and lead with proper support around you, this is worth a conversation.
