Lead the opening of a brand-new therapeutic children's residential home in Waltham Cross.



We are seeking a skilled, motivated and visionary Registered Manager to open, register and lead a new Ofsted-registered therapeutic children's residential home for young people aged 10-17. This is a rare opportunity to shape a home from its earliest stages, creating the culture, systems and standards that will support long-term stability and exceptional outcomes.

As part of a growing organisation, the successful candidate will also have future opportunities for dual registration, overseeing an additional children's home as the service expands. This role is ideal for leaders progressing toward multi-home management, Responsible Individual roles, or senior operational leadership.

Lead the Opening of a New Children's Home

Take responsibility for Ofsted registration, commissioning, staffing, and launch readiness. Influence every stage of development, from policies and systems to culture, practice, and environmental design.

Build and Shape the Home's Ethos

Lead the development of a therapeutic, trauma-informed residential care model. Work with senior leaders while having genuine autonomy to design and implement high-quality practice.

Future Progression Opportunities

Potential for dual registration as the organisation opens additional homes. Clear pathways into multi-home management, Operational Manager, or Responsible Individual positions.

About the New Home



Located in Waltham Cross (EN7), this new therapeutic children's residential home is designed to provide emotional safety, stability and high-quality care for young people aged 10-17 that require support with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties.

As the Founding Registered Manager, you will lead the home through:

Ofsted registration and compliance setup Recruitment and onboarding of the staff team Policy development and implementation Trauma-informed practice development Pre-registration visits and full inspections
Your leadership will directly shape the home's culture and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities



Lead the pre-registration and post-registration process with Ofsted. Recruit, develop and inspire a brand-new residential care team. Establish robust operational systems, policies, and quality frameworks. Embed trauma-informed, relationship-based care and therapeutic practice. Ensure full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards. Oversee rotas, staffing levels, budgets and resource planning. Develop strong safeguarding, risk management, and behaviour support procedures. Lead the home through Ofsted inspections and ongoing quality assurance. Build effective relationships with local authorities, social workers and families. Contribute to service expansion, including pathways to dual registration.

What We're Looking For



Experience as a Registered Manager, or a Deputy Manager in an

Ofsted Registered Children's Home

ready to step into a commissioning role -

ESSENTIAL

Minimum two years' leadership experience within children's residential care. Strong record of safeguarding, compliance, and high-quality practice. Confidence in leading a home through setup, registration and early inspections. Level 5 Leadership and Management (or willingness to complete). Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills. Commitment to therapeutic, trauma-informed residential care. Ambition to grow with the organisation, including future multi-home management.
