Job Overview


We are an independent multi site practice looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our dedicated nursing team. This position is based at our Bingham practice, although work at our other practices may be required from time to time.

The successful candidate will be passionate about animal care and veterinary medicine.

As a Veterinary Nurse, you will provide essential support to veterinarians, ensure the well-being of animals, and contribute to delivering outstanding pet healthcare services. CPD is encouraged and funded. Salary will depend on experience.

Responsibilities



Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile fields, and providing animal restraint. Perform animal husbandry duties including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring health status to promote optimal animal welfare. Handle a variety of animals with confidence using proper restraint techniques, ensuring safety for both pets and staff. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work or urine analysis to support diagnostic processes. Take and develop X-ray images accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols. Manage pet care routines including administering medications, wound care, and supporting recovery processes. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient histories, and document procedures using veterinary terminology accurately. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning or extractions as directed. Assist with pet grooming services and dog training activities to enhance overall pet wellness. Participate in veterinary critical care when needed by monitoring vital signs and providing emergency support. Perform animal catheterization and other technical procedures with precision and adherence to safety standards. Support kennel operations by cleaning enclosures, monitoring animal behaviour, and ensuring a clean environment aligned with infection control protocols. Collaborate effectively within the team to ensure seamless patient care and client communication. Carry out reception duties as required
