About us:

Maes Glas Vets is a multi- branch organisation committed to providing excellent customer care in the form of a large range of in-house medical and surgical services.

Alongside our main, purpose-built hospital in Bridgend with all mod-cons, we have five branches across South Wales. We have achieved Gold Level Cat Friendly Status from the ISFM and five separate "outstanding "RCVS awards.

We are also a nurse training practice and have several certificate holders within our nursing and vet team.

The Role:

We're looking for our new team member to be enthusiastic and a team player, as well as able to work independently.

Salary - 28,500-31,700 depending on experience

Full-time position working in our Brackla branch as well as coverage will be needed for our smaller branches at times

Diverse range of duties within the weekly rota eg. theatre, dog and cat ward, lab, nurse consults, dispensary, prep room and discharge

Weekend work required in our Brackla branch on a rota basis

No night OOH - we provide our own OOH at our Brackla Hospital with a dedicated night team of our own nurses and vets

A driving licence is essential for branch work.

Our Team:

We are a diverse, social, and enthusiastic team of 33 RVN's, 13 SVN's, 8 ACA's and 33 Vets plus our fantastic support team (including the practice cat Basil). We all have different areas of interest, and at Maes Glas we encourage our RVN's to do as much as possible, and you will be heavily involved in a huge variety of medical and surgical cases.

We have surfers, hikers, tarot card readers, rugby players, house plant enthusiasts, and dungeon and dragons' players to name but a few. Many of us come from different walks of life, but it is this diversity that makes working at Maes Glas such a pleasure.

The Area:

Bridgend is a large town nestled between the bright lights of Cardiff to the east and Swansea to the West, the rugged Brecon Beacons to the north and the award-winning beaches to the South. This area offers an abundance for you to do in your downtime away from work.
