Orchard House Veterinary Centres are an independent small animal veterinary practice in Northumberland, serving the Tynedale area for over 25 years. We have three branches located in Hexham, Stocksfield and Bellingham.
Our close knit and long-standing team support each other through thick and thin, whilst having a good laugh along the way. Our clients are welcoming to new faces and have a great relationship with the old faces (figuratively, not literally!).
As an RVN we want you to feel fulfilled and be able to utilise all your nursing skills, from inpatient care and anaesthesia to nurse clinics. We will always encourage you to follow your interests, and if you're looking to take on a certificate, we will absolutely support this. We would love to expand our range of nurse clinics and would welcome your ideas to help us achieve this.
Our Team
Our strong 7-vet team sees a varied caseload of surgical and medical cases, including Laparoscopic surgery. We are a progressive practice with a generous CPD allowance and encourage our team to gain as much experience as possible.
We have a long-standing nursing team here at Orchard. Catherine and Christine have been with us for 18 and 16 years, whilst Darren has been with us 6 years, and Emily who volunteered with us back in 2015 joined us in 2016 as a student vet nurse and then a qualified nurse in 2018. At our Hexham surgery we have Victoria who joined us in 2023, and Kelsey who is our lead nurse at our Hexham branch. Amy re-joined us in 2024 but was previously with us for a several years and our newest Amy joined us in September last year. Jess has just passed her OSCEs and is now a fully-fledged RVN and has been at Orchard since 2021. Finally, last but not least, we have one student nurse, Hannah who joined us in April 2024 and is in her second year.
Our support team is a twelve -person team including eight amazing receptionists who keep things running smoothly, an administration assistant, Finance and marketing manager, assistant manager and our Practice Manager, Angela, who champions a happy and engaged team, fostering an open environment where everyone's ideas are valued and contribute to shaping the future of the practice.
The Role
? Part time
? Holiday: 4 weeks plus bank holidays and an additional day per year served
? Out-of-hours on-call up until 10pm as part of a shared rota
