Site Overview
Our site in Newport, Isle of Wight is focused on the delivery of Gurits' Formulated Products which are used in applications in multiple market segments that include Wind, Marine, Industrial and Transportation. In addition we have teams from our R&D/Engineering/Laboratory/Technical/Customer Support and Sales functions based within the UK.
Purpose of the Department Function
We are seeking an Apprentice Chemical Compliance Coordinator reporting to the Chemical Compliance & Sustainable Products Lead you will be working in a collaborative team alongside other functions. Helping to select suitable chemicals with product development, working with process engineers and manufacturing teams to manage safety risks and with global teams enabling compliance with global and local legislation.
Description of the Role
As an Apprentice Chemical Compliance Coordinator, you'll gain hands-on experience while learning from industry experts, building a strong foundation in safety regulations, environmental responsibility, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
During your apprenticeship you will learn to:
Monitor and ensure compliance with international chemical regulations such as UK, Europe and USA.
Assist in reporting and creating documentation to demonstrate and maintain compliance.
Conduct Audits and risk assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
Liaise with regulatory agencies and industry groups to stay updated on evolving compliance requirements.
Support Product Development teams in ensuring chemical formulations meet regulatory standards.
Skills and Experience
Who are we looking for someone with:
Good scientific understanding demonstrated through science A-Levels such as Chemistry, Biology or Forensic Science.
An interest in chemicals, sustainability and making workplaces safer.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to accurately enter data and research information.
