About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team on a new package of care, which is allowing the client to live independently.

Our client is a man in his late 40's with a brain injury, physical difficulties, and a visual impairment. He is a very sociable character, easy to warm to and loves a bit of friendly banter, especially if it is football related. He occasionally gets frustrated, but he is able to discuss this and reflect on it afterwards.

He is football crazy and loves anything to do with Liverpool Football Club, not least going to the pub to watch the TV coverage of games. He enjoys time with his family, being in the sunshine, making music, and watching films. Over recent months our client has become less inclined to spend time away from home and we are looking for a skilled support worker who can support him to get back to spending time doing the things he previously loved.

He is very excited at recently completing an independent living trial and as a result has been living independent from January 2024. The client receives support from his team Monday to Friday, with weekend care currently being provided by family, though this may change in the future and further care hours will be available.

Currently your role would be preparing his meals and supporting with day to day domestic tasks. He only requires minimal personal care, for example support getting into the bath and dressing his lower half.

You won't require your own car, but you will need to be a confident driver of our client's own automatic vehicle. This will be mainly on short local drives to appointments, for shopping, to pub for the football etc, and possibly further afield on holidays.

11) To provide assistance and support as directed by the Case Manager, and to be responsible to the client via the Case Manager.
