Job Description


Contract: We have a permanent fulltime position available working 35 hours a week.

This could be filled by one person working full-time or two people working as a job share (17.5 hours a week each). Please indicate your preference on the application form personal statement.

Salary: \xc2\xa337,521 per annum (pro rata for job share), plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible hybrid working.

Location: London. The role will be based at our London office; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members if the team, normally 1-2 days a week.

Do you believe in the power of culture to transform lives? Arts Council England is looking for a Relationship Manager, Theatre, to join it\xe2\x80\x99s busy London area team. We have one full-time position available which could be filled on either a single fulltime basis or job share.

You will have knowledge and experience in Theatre practice and a clear commitment to diversity and inclusion. You will be able to support others to make positive change and be comfortable communicating with colleagues and external contacts at all levels. We are particularly keen to hear from people with knowledge and experience of theatre making from a range of diverse cultures and lived experiences.

You will be working with a range of theatre organisations and makers in London and be responsible for:

  • Giving funding advice, writing grant application assessments, understanding project information, and monitoring performance.
  • Assessing financial information, identifying risks, and providing feedback on artistic and organisational plans.
  • Supporting development in geographic areas, particularly in our Priority Places; setting up funding surgeries; or meeting with a Local Authority to discuss place-based priorities.
  • Working outside your Theatre specialism on a range of Arts Council initiatives.
  • Contributing to the work of the London Area and national Theatre teams.
