Job Description


Working as part of a small team, the role of Research Integrity Administrator is to provide high quality and professional support to the University\xe2\x80\x99s Research Integrity, Governance and Contracts functions. The post holder will provide a range of support for the administrative aspects of the research integrity, governance, ethics and contracts processes including mailbox monitoring, the communication of support material, updating of guidance, and supporting meetings.

The University operates under an agile working framework which enables staff to work for home when they are not required on a business location for their role. This role will be required to work flexibly across a mixture of Directorate spaces including on campus and at our Forth Valley College, Alloa there is also the option to work from home in line with the agile working framework.

Reporting to the Research Integrity and Governance Manager, the Research Integrity Administrator will support them in coordinating the work of the Team, ensuring that resilience and consistent practice is achieved.

Description of Duties

  • To support the Research Integrity and Governance Manager and Contracts Manager in best practice administrative processes related to research integrity, governance, assurance and ethics and research contracts
  • Coordination of the preparation and distribution of correspondence to researchers and other parties regarding research integrity, ethics and contracts
  • Maintain accurate records of all activity on searchable spreadsheets, databases and online systems
  • To maintain and update administrative materials and resources relating to the work of the Research Integrity & Governance and Contracts Team, including web-based information
  • Respond to enquiries from academic colleagues, external partners and the wider Research, Innovation and Business Engagement Directorate
  • Provide administrative support for the three Research Ethics Panels, including collation and distribution of papers
  • Assist with general administration including meeting, event and training organisation, room bookings and responding to general enquiries
  • To contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of administrative processes
  • To monitor shared mailboxes and respond effectively to enquiries, with a focus on excellence in customer service
  • To undertake appropriate personal and professional development activities in order to deliver best practice
  • To undertake any other duties as may be required, in line with the grade and nature of the role, as directed by Research Integrity and Governance Manager
Essential Criteria
  • Educated to HNC level or equivalent (where no formal qualifications are held, additional relevant experience is required)
  • Proven experience of working in a busy team/office
  • Experience of providing effective clerical and administrative support
  • Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to deliver a high-quality service
  • Advanced knowledge, understanding and competence using a variety of IT systems (including Microsoft Office 365)
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines with a \xe2\x80\x98can do\xe2\x80\x99 approach
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of working in a higher education or similar environment
  • Experience of working with SharePoint
  • Experience of working with research ethics systems
