We are looking for a committed and proactive Residential Officer to join our team and help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for our students. This weekend role is ideal for someone passionate about student welfare and community engagement.
This is a weekend role (9.00 am to 6.00 pm Saturday and Sunday), supporting and supervising our students in the college residences.
This is ideal for someone that is committed to the active encouragement and promotion of equity, diversity and inclusion. You will have experience in making a difference to young people and vulnerable adults by being a trusted and respected individual.
Interviews for this role will be taking place 14 January 2026.
Your duties
You will:

• Support and supervise students in the college residences, ensuring their wellbeing and safety.
• Supervise a programme of social and sporting activities during evenings and weekends, encouraging student participation and engagement.
• Monitor the condition and care of student residential, sporting, and social accommodation, reporting any concerns or maintenance needs.
• Patrol the college campus and accommodation buildings, working effectively with College Security personnel to maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain acceptable standards of student behaviour outside the normal timetabled day, promoting a respectful and inclusive community.

Person specification

• You are committed to the active encouragement and promotion of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• You have a relevant professional qualification or a proven track record in a similar role.
• You bring experience in dealing with vulnerable adults and/or young people, and are recognised as a trusted and respected individual.
• You have experience working with confidential information, demonstrating discretion and professionalism.
• You are confident, empathetic, and able to respond calmly to incidents and emergencies.
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and approachable attitude.
