We are looking to recruit committed and compassionate Residential Support Workers to join our Ofsted Registered Children's Residential Home.
Residential Support Workers play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to children, ensuring their well-being and development through tailored practice.
Position requires strong communication & writing skills, a passion for childcare, and development and the ability to work collaboratively with families and other professionals.
Accountable to
Seniors, Team Leaders, Deputy Manager, Register Manager and Responsible Individual.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualised care plans for children, focusing on their unique needs and developmental goals.
Communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues to ensure a supportive and nurturing environment.
Monitor children's and young peoples progress and adjust care and planning as necessary to promote optimal development.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns regarding a child or young peoples health or presentation.
Collaborate with other professionals, such as educators and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive support for each child and young person.
Engage children in activities that promote learning, socialisation, and emotional well-being.
Keeping the home to a good standard of living for the children by maintaining good hygiene standards.
Skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with children and families.
A valid driving licence is preferred for travel between locations.
Experience in childcare or working with children in various settings is essential.
Familiarity with IT systems for record-keeping and communication purposes.
Ability to create and implement effective care plans tailored to individual children's needs.
A compassionate approach with a strong commitment to supporting children's growth and development.
Residential Care Provision
To work with children and young people according to the individual needs, providing focussed work as planned and directed.
To assist in the co-ordination of activities and ensure that they are well managed and produce safe and consistent care.
To contribute to the care planning of techniques where possible.
To deliver a person-centred approach, always bring care back to being in the best interest
To ensure that procedures for the security, monitoring, administration and control of medication is followed.
To assist the managers in encouraging children to follow their own religion and cultural beliefs.
Personnel
To be adaptable in circumstances which require change whilst maintaining a child-centred approach.
To assist Leaders and Managers in organising and delegating responsibilities where required.
To always promote professionalism.
To always role mode and lead by example.
