Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and highly respected IndividualLearning Department to support students with their learning. The post will be in our Communication and Interaction Resource Provision. You will be an excellent communicator with a good generaleducation and strong interpersonal skills, to work with students with social, interaction andcommunication difficulties.
Key responsibilities include supporting students learning, either in lessons, small groups or through1:1 work as well as supporting the development of their self-esteem, inclusion and behaviour.A commitment to help all young people and staff to achieve their best and a shared belief in ourinclusive ethos is expected of all staff.
Hours of work will be 30 hours per week for 39 weeks per year.
Duties and responsibilities
Clarify and explain instructions to children
Ensure children can use the equipment and materials provided
Motivate and support children
Supporting children's self-esteem, inclusion, and behavioural development
Encourage an acceptance and inclusion of all children
Develop methods of promoting / reinforcing the children's self-esteem and independence
Supporting the teacher
Supervising work
Managing children's behaviour
Responding to children's questions
Health and safety
Promote the safety and wellbeing of all children
Maintain a safe learning environment by managing behaviour effectively in accordance with the Trust's behaviour policy
