The Role
As our Responsible Individual, you will be the strategic lead for ensuring our homes meet and exceed Ofsted standards. This is a pivotal role where you'll oversee the Ofsted registration process, support and develop our managers, and embed a culture of excellence from the ground up. You'll work closely with the leadership team to ensure our services are safe, compliant, and deeply child-centred, while also shaping the future growth of Ascura.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Ofsted registration process for our first and future homes.
Oversee compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
Support and develop Registered Managers and staff teams to deliver outstanding care.
Oversee and be actively involved in the recruitment process to ensure we attract, select, and retain the very best staff.
Champion safeguarding and ensure the voice of the child is at the heart of all decision-making.
Monitor quality and performance, driving continuous improvement across the service.
Work collaboratively with external agencies, families, and stakeholders.
Contribute to strategic planning for organisational growth and development.
About You
We're looking for someone who is both an inspirational leader and a hands-on mentor. You will have:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
(or equivalent).
A minimum of
5 years' experience
in an Ofsted-regulated children's care environment.
A proven track record in achieving 'Good' or 'Outstanding' inspection outcomes.
Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted SCCIF framework.
