About the Role

We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable Responsible Individual (RI) to provide strategic oversight and governance of our children's residential home in Wales. In this critical leadership role, you will ensure that the service operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations and upholds the highest standards of care for children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.

As the bridge between the provider and the Registered Manager, the RI will play a vital role in promoting a safe, nurturing, and therapeutically informed environment where every young person can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic oversight in line with the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements. Ensure the home delivers high-quality, safe, and nurturing care that aligns with the Statement of Purpose. Work collaboratively with the Registered Manager to support leadership, development, and continuous service improvement. Monitor safeguarding practices, risk assessments, and care planning processes. Carry out Regulation 44 visits, providing comprehensive, accurate reports to inform practice and ensure compliance. Promote trauma-informed, child-centred approaches across all areas of service delivery. Provide professional advice, mentoring, and challenge to the management team. Act as a key liaison during inspections and audits, maintaining strong relationships with local authorities and stakeholders. Contribute to strategic planning and performance reviews, identifying areas for development and innovation.
About You

In-depth understanding of Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes regulatory framework. Eligibility to register with Ofsted as the Responsible Individual Hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children and Young People's Services or equivalent. Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, and trauma-informed care. Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills. Able to work independently while maintaining high standards of integrity and accountability. Must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to travel to the home in Wales.
