Location:

Remote with travel across Essex and neighbouring counties

Salary:

50,000 to 65,000 per annum including performance bonus

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Responsible Individual and Operations Manager opportunity in Children's Residential Care



We are recruiting an experienced Responsible Individual and Operations Manager to provide operational leadership and strategic support across multiple Ofsted children's residential homes in Essex and the surrounding region. This senior Responsible Individual and Operations Manager role offers the chance to drive best practice, strengthen residential services, and ensure children and young people receive exceptional care.

This is a significant leadership opportunity for a skilled Operations Manager or Responsible Individual who is committed to delivering safe, nurturing, and high-quality residential support.

Key Responsibilities for the Responsible Individual / Operations Manager



Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards Provide consultancy, coaching, and guidance to Registered Managers to improve performance Lead safeguarding across services and promote a culture of safety and accountability Oversee Ofsted inspection readiness, achieving Good and Outstanding results Support operational efficiency including staffing, budgets, and resource planning Develop strong partnerships with local authorities, social workers, and regulators Lead staff development and training to drive high-quality practice Promote reflective learning and continuous improvement across all residential homes

About You



Three years' senior leadership, Responsible Individual, or Operations Manager experience in children's residential care NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards) Strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted inspection frameworks Effective communication and leadership ability across multiple services Evidence of improving outcomes and driving best practice within residential care Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Essex and nearby areas Passionate about delivering excellent support for children and young people
