Location:

Remote, with regular travel across the South East

Salary:

50,000 - 65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

Are you an experienced leader with the vision and expertise to shape the future of children's residential care? We are seeking a high-calibre

Social Care Consultant

to provide strategic oversight, expert guidance, and improvement support across multiple children's residential homes throughout the South East. In this senior role, your leadership will strengthen safeguarding, embed regulatory compliance, and empower Registered Managers to deliver exceptional outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:



Ensure homes consistently meet and exceed Ofsted regulations, the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards. Provide expert consultancy, mentoring, and professional support to Registered Managers. Champion safeguarding and embed safe, transparent, and accountable practices across all services. Guide homes through Ofsted inspections, aiming for 'Good' or 'Outstanding' outcomes. Advise on operational effectiveness including staffing structures, budgets, and resource management. Build and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies. Lead workforce development, training, and performance management to maintain high standards. Promote a culture of accountability, reflection, and continuous improvement.

About You:



At least 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience in children's residential care. NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve). Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted frameworks, and Quality Standards. Excellent leadership, advisory, and communication skills. Proven ability to drive improvement and deliver measurable impact. Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel across the South East. Genuine commitment to achieving outstanding care and outcomes for children and young people.
