Remote, with regular travel across South London, Surrey, Kent, and Sussex

Salary:

50,000 to 65,000 per annum including performance bonus

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Responsible Individual and Operations Manager role in Children's Residential Care

We are recruiting an experienced Responsible Individual and Operations Manager to lead and support Ofsted-registered children's residential homes across South London and neighbouring counties. This senior Responsible Individual and Operations Manager position offers a key opportunity to shape quality care, strengthen services, and deliver positive outcomes for children and young people.

We are searching for a highly skilled Operations Manager or Responsible Individual who can provide strong operational oversight, drive service improvement, and support Registered Managers to deliver safe, nurturing, and high-quality children's residential care.

Key Responsibilities for the Responsible Individual / Operations Manager

Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards Coach and mentor Registered Managers, promoting effective leadership and performance growth Lead safeguarding across multiple homes to maintain a safe and transparent culture Support homes to achieve Good and Outstanding Ofsted inspection outcomes Provide strategic input into staffing, recruitment, budgeting, and resource planning Build relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory partners across the region Lead training and staff development initiatives to strengthen practice and service delivery Promote a reflective, learning-focused culture committed to continuous improvement

About You

Minimum three years' senior leadership, Responsible Individual, or Operations Manager experience in children's residential care NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards) Strong understanding of safeguarding requirements and Ofsted inspection frameworks Confident communicator with effective leadership skills Proven track record of improving outcomes and supporting successful inspections Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across South London and surrounding areas Committed to achieving outstanding standards of residential childcare
