Job Purpose:
Exeter Aerospace has a position for a Safety and Compliance Engineer within a Part 145 MRO Safety and Compliance Department. This position reports directly to the Head of Safety, Compliance and Training and will assist with the monitoring of regulatory and procedural compliance to ensure safe aircraft maintenance activities. The role also requires the processing and investigation of any internal airworthiness occurrences, training and health and safety duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct internal audits against the UK CAA, EASA and other NAA Part-145 regulations applicable to Exeter Aerospace.
Conduct audits against the UK CAA Part 147 regulations
Conduct audits for compliance with internal company procedures and processes.
Process and investigate any internally raised occurrence reports as required.
Ensure MORs are submitted to the regulatory body within the required time frame.
o Maintain the audit schedule o Liaise with customers regarding issues relating to compliance and safety
Monitor findings and actions resulting from audits and investigations
Issue of company authorisations to staff
Maintain staff records
Actively promote regulatory compliance, safe maintenance practices and a just culture
Deliver internal training
Assist with health and safety duties
Be prepared to undertake other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the company from time to time.
Key Competencies / Skills Required:
MS Office Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally
Ability to work as part of a team but also demonstrate the ability to work on own initiative
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to compile written reports to a high standard
Good analytical skills
Experience with Q-Pulse QMS including report building
Aviation investigation and auditing experience
Experience working in a commercial aviation Part-145 maintenance environment of at least 5 years
Thorough understanding of Part-145 and Part 147 requirements
Thorough understanding of the Safety Management System
Ability to live and work in the UK
Good English language skills - B2 CEFR or IELTS level 6 Desirable Criteria
Hold or have held an aircraft maintenance licence with type ratings or equivalent military responsibilities.
Good understanding of Part-M, and Part-66
Good understanding of airworthiness hazards and experience in carrying out risk assessments
Experience with health and safety
Ability to develop and deliver internal training courses
A full driving licence
Ability to live and work in the UK.
