We are seeking a strategic and results-driven individual to lead a specialist company in the commercial installation and maintenance of
roller shutters, fire curtains, smoke curtains, smoke vents, gates and barriers
. Based in the West Midlands, you will drive business growth, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain high operational standards while positioning the company as a leader in security and fire protection.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Leadership & Management
Identify new market opportunities in construction, infrastructure, and public sector projects across the UK.
Lead strategic partnerships with main contractors, architects, and facilities managers.
Operational & Technical Oversight
Ensure efficiency and quality of works
Ensure all products and installations comply with UK and EU standards and meet client specifications.
Promote continuous improvement in processes and in supply chain management.
Financial Management
Liaise with our accountant and book-keeper on budgeting, cash flow, and financial reporting.
Monitor KPIs and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Team Leadership & Organisational Development
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team including engineering, project management and administrative staff.
Embed a high-performance culture focused on accountability, safety and excellence.
Sales, Marketing & Client Relations
Lead on sales strategies, targeting sectors such as construction, retail, healthcare and education.
Work alongside the Directors and Project and Contract Manager on public sector bid/tender responses.
Build long-term client relationships and uphold strong after-sales service standards.
Compliance
Keep the company ahead of evolving safety legislation (e.g., Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Order).
Maintain SSIP standards and professional body memberships.

Candidate Profile:
Essential:
Proven leadership experience within manufacturing, fire safety, building services or similar.
Knowledge of fire curtain, smoke curtain or roller shutter systems.
Understanding of UK fire and building regulations.
Experience managing business operations, financial performance, and / or technical teams.
Based in, or willing to relocate to, the West Midlands.
Desirable:
Engineering or construction-related experience and qualifications.
Experience with public sector contracts or frameworks.
