Key Accountability

Receiving and accurately recording customer enquiries by telephone, fax, email or in person.

Checking customer credit worthiness and updating Management of any issues.

Accurate preparation and timely despatch of quotations.

Ensure availability of steel and advise Purchasing of any low stock levels.

Accurate inputting of orders into the system in-line with business policies.

Carrying out promotional activity by telephone to designated and potential new customers.

Reporting customer and competitor activity to colleagues and Management.

Co-ordinating with other departments to ensure customer orders are delivered in full and on time.

To achieve volume tonnage and margin targets as set by Sales Management.

To ensure designated customer delivery plans and relevant Health and Safety information is recorded an up to date.

Investigating customer complaints and taking the relevant actions to maintain customer satisfaction.

Assist with the training of new staff.

Ensure good housekeeping practices and that all areas are maintained in a safe and tidy manner.

Take reasonable care for the health & safety of yourself and others that may be affected by your acts or omissions.

Report any incident, which has led or could lead to accident or injury and raise health and safety questions immediately they occur.

Co-operate in the investigation of incidents/accidents to enable measures to be taken to prevent recurrences.

Skills Required

1. Experience of working in a sales environment essential.

2. Experience of working within a steel stockholding / construction industry is essential.

3. Strong numerical and communication skills.

4. Professional enthusiastic personality with a will to succeed essential.

5. IT literate.

6. Full driving licence.
