Skirting World Ltd is one of the UK's leading manufacturers and suppliers of MDF mouldings, including skirting boards, architraves, and other interior finishing products. We are now seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Sales Manager to lead our B2B expansion efforts, targeting property developers, contractors, and builders' merchants across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a key growth area within the business, with real autonomy and impact.
About the Role: This role is ideal for someone with a strong sales background in the woodworking, construction, or building materials industry, who enjoys building long-term relationships and closing high-value deals. In addition to driving sales growth, the successful candidate will also be responsible for leading and mentoring a small internal sales team, using their industry experience to support development and performance improvement.You will play a pivotal role in identifying and securing new business opportunities, managing client accounts, and strengthening Skirting World's presence in the commercial property and trade sectors. This is an office-based role, working Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, from our Birmingham HQ.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively identify, approach, and develop relationships with property developers, housebuilders, contractors, and builders' merchants
Create and manage a robust pipeline of new business opportunities
Prepare and deliver tailored proposals, presentations, and pricing strategies to meet client needs
Negotiate and secure large-scale supply agreements and long-term contracts
Work closely with internal departments (production, logistics, and customer service) to ensure smooth delivery and ongoing client satisfaction
Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to represent the company and generate leads
Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market movements to inform sales strategy
Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on sales performance, forecasts, and growth opportunities
About You:
We're looking for a self-starter with a strong commercial instinct and deep understanding of the woodworking and construction industries. You'll be confident, personable, and highly motivated by results.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a B2B sales role within the woodworking or construction materials sector is essential
A proven track record of securing and managing large accounts or supply contracts
Strong network or existing contacts within property development or merchant sectors
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced office environment
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and projects
