Hargreaves Minerals is a leading provider of single-size aggregate products, committed to delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions to our clients. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to join our team and drive our sales and revenue growth in the North.

Role Overview:

As the Sales Manager, you will leverage your sales experience and passion for securing new deals to maximise customer attraction and retention, divisional revenue, and profitability. Covering the Northern region (from Humberside up to the Scottish Borders), you will be responsible for driving sales and revenue growth by managing the sale and merchanting of single-size aggregate products and securing large-scale project contracts.

Your primary goal will be to grow the Hargreaves customer base by forging long-term relationships with key customers, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring efficient product distribution to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities:



Drive sales and revenue growth by managing the sale and merchanting of single-size aggregate products. Secure large-scale project contracts and develop new business opportunities. Maintain strong customer relationships and identify new business opportunities. Ensure efficient product distribution to meet client needs. Field customer enquiries, resolve any customer complaints, and escalate when required. Collaborate with internal teams to optimise supply chain operations and ensure product availability. Manage all aspects of the company's interaction with its customers, ensuring exemplary levels of accuracy, compliance, customer service, and commerciality. Fulfil a variety of commercial administration tasks to support the growth of new and existing customer accounts. Deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets. Expand market share within the construction, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. Champion and become involved in compliance and SHE initiatives.

Impact and Key Deliverables:



Lead the development of new and existing business opportunities. Efficiently manage commercial, operational, and financial functions. Increase both existing and new business sales. Be the primary point of contact for nominated customer-related enquiries. Fulfil orders in a timely and efficient manner. Resolve customer complaints and escalate when required. Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts to be delivered to internal and external parties and stakeholders. Travel to customer sites to understand their business, discuss their needs, offer suggestions, and provide quotations. Represent Hargreaves at customer functions and corporate events. Support the growth of new and existing customer accounts through various commercial administration tasks.

Knowledge and Skills Required:



Essential:



Proven track record in a commercial, field-based environment. Experience in aggregate sales. Valid driving licence, and willing to travel.

Dynamic and energetic, with proven success in B2B sales, ideally within the aggregates industry. Highly determined and sales-focused, driven to meet and exceed ambitious targets. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in building rapport and long-term relationships with customers. Commercially savvy, with an excellent understanding of market trends and customer needs.
