Sales Manager

55,000 - 100,000 OTE with commission

We are seeking a dynamic Sales Manager with proven experience in driving growth within the void energy sector. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in void energy services, broader energy industry solutions, or social housing, with a track record of delivering strong sales results.

This is a selling role as well as a management position.

The Sales Manager will be directly responsible for generating new business, managing key client relationships, and closing deals, while also shaping the wider sales strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Take a hands-on approach to selling energy solutions into the social housing, local authority, and energy markets. Develop and execute a sales strategy to drive new business and increase market share in the energy and social housing sectors. Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with clients including housing associations, local authorities, energy providers, and contractors. Lead on sales for void energy services and other tailored energy solutions. Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities, meeting and exceeding sales targets. Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and pitching through to negotiation and closing deals. Work collaboratively with internal teams (operations, marketing, account management) to ensure seamless service delivery. Keep up to date with market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes in the energy and housing sectors. Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and pipeline updates to senior management. Represent the business at industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings.

Sales Generation



Proactively engage in prospecting and deal closure, ensuring a consistent influx of high-quality partners and stock growth each month. Utilise multiple channels, including digital marketing, referrals, and partnerships, to generate quality leads and expand the customer base. Build a pipeline of qualified prospects through consistent follow-up and engagement efforts. Close deals effectively by understanding client needs and confidently guiding prospects through the final stages of the sales process to secure commitments.

Market & Service Expertise:



Cultivate an expert understanding of the social housing market to inform strategic decision-making and enhance product positioning, providing innovative ideas. Stay ahead by becoming proficient in new products and services through dedicated training, ensuring a thorough understanding that is adopted by the EA team. Tailor sales pitches to address the specific needs and challenges of each client.

Brand Representation:



Act as a brand ambassador, consistently representing the company's values, culture, and vision in all customer interactions. Ensure that all sales communications and presentations are aligned with the company's branding guidelines and messaging. Actively contribute to the generation of new business opportunities through events and networking opportunities, leaving a lasting impression on potential partners

Reporting and Analysis



Maintain and update the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system with accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, leads, opportunities, and customer interactions. Use CRM tools to track the progress of leads through the sales pipeline and manage follow-up tasks. Generate and provide regular reports to the Head of Growth from the CRM to analyse sales performance, forecast revenue, and identify trends or areas for improvement.

Collaboration



Collaborate with marketing to create compelling sales materials, promotional campaigns, and lead generation initiatives that resonate with target audiences. Work with the tech team to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the sales process, ensuring a smooth experience for the client.

Experience



Proven track record in hands-on B2B sales, ideally within the energy sector. Specific experience in void energy management/services or selling energy-related solutions. Experience working with or selling into the social housing sector (housing associations, local authorities, contractors, etc.). Strong business development skills, with demonstrable success in achieving and exceeding sales targets. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Commercially astute with the ability to understand client needs and tailor solutions effectively. Self-motivated, driven, and able to work independently as well as within a team.

Desirable



Established network within the energy or social housing sectors. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks within the UK energy and housing markets. Experience managing key accounts as well as winning new business. Previous leadership or mentoring experience in a sales environment.

Confidence & Persuasiveness: Instilling belief in the product or service offered. CRM Software Proficiency: Familiarity with tools like HubSpot. Data Analysis: Understanding sales reports, forecasting, and performance metrics. Time Management: Prioritising tasks effectively to handle multiple accounts or leads. Market & Product Knowledge: Staying up to date on industry trends and product updates.
