Sales & Marketing Manager - UK Properties

Location: Southampton Area (Regular On-Site Presence Required)
Based at: Botleigh Grange Hotel & Spa, Hampshire
Contract: Full-Time | Immediate Start
Reports to: Director of Operations - UK
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About Us

Excelsior Hospitality International (EHI) is an expanding hospitality group with a growing portfolio of hotels across the UK, including the iconic Botleigh Grange Hotel & Spa in Hampshire. As we continue to invest in revitalising our historic properties and launching new guest experiences, we are seeking a dynamic Sales & Marketing Manager to lead revenue growth, strengthen market positioning, and drive commercial success across our UK hotel portfolio.

The Role

This is a high-impact, pivotal role for an ambitious and experienced sales and marketing professional who thrives on both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. As the lead commercial representative for our UK properties -- beginning with Botleigh Grange -- you will take full ownership of all sales and marketing activity, working closely with the Management Team to drive revenue, build brand presence, and develop strong market positioning across accommodation, weddings, events, wellness, and corporate segments.

You will operate across all levels: setting strategic direction while executing day-to-day tasks such as outbound sales, digital marketing, client engagement, event coordination, and local partnerships. This is not a desk-bound or siloed role -- it's a dynamic opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, builds lasting relationships, and excels at turning plans into action on the ground. As our UK portfolio grows, so too will the scope and impact of this role.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement an integrated Sales & Marketing Plan to support business growth and brand positioning for all UK properties

Lead on all proactive sales activity, identifying and converting new business opportunities in corporate, group, leisure, events, and wedding segments

Build relationships with travel agents, DMCs, event planners, wellness partners, corporates, and local businesses

Manage digital marketing activity (web, social media, email campaigns) in collaboration with the central team and branding consultants

Oversee the production of all promotional content, sales materials, and client communications

Conduct regular competitor and market analysis to inform pricing, packaging, and positioning

Represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows, and client visits

Ensure accurate CRM use, lead tracking, and reporting to inform strategy

Provide on-the-ground support for key events and ensure client expectations are exceeded

Working Environment & Expectations

You will be the sole Sales & Marketing lead on site, responsible for the full cycle of commercial activity -- from strategic planning to hands-on execution. This includes responding to enquiries, booking appointments, managing local marketing, coordinating events, attending meetings, and following up with clients.

You must be comfortable working independently and managing a wide range of responsibilities, often shifting between high-level strategy and operational tasks. While day-to-day activity is self-managed, you will have access to support from EHI's central leadership team and external consultants when needed.

This role is best suited to a proactive, self-sufficient individual who enjoys autonomy and takes pride in delivering tangible results. Flexibility is essential, including availability for occasional evening or weekend events.

As you help the business grow, so will the commercial team. We are committed to investing in people, tools, and resources over time -- and this role offers clear potential to evolve into a larger leadership position as our UK portfolio and performance expand.

About You

Minimum 5 years' experience in hotel, hospitality, or travel industry sales and marketing, including managerial or senior-level responsibility

Proven track record in meeting sales targets and driving market growth

Strong UK hospitality industry knowledge, with an existing client base or network highly desirable

A strong pre-existing network of contacts -- particularly across corporate accounts, travel agencies, event planners, and wedding markets -- will be a significant advantage in this role

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

Confident in both strategic planning and day-to-day delivery

Experience in digital marketing and CRM systems is essential

Self-motivated, highly organised, and commercially astute

Comfortable working independently and collaborating with remote teams

UK driving licence preferred

Flexibility to travel and attend events as required

Why Join Us?

Influence the commercial direction of a growing UK hospitality portfolio

Collaborative working environment with senior leadership support

Scope to contribute to group-wide marketing strategy

Competitive salary and benefits with long-term career opportunities
