MT Globex Ltd is a transport company based in Walsall, West Midlands, operating in the general haulage and container logistics sector. The company works work with a range of customers from small family owned businesses right through to multi-nationals. We provide transport and related services on both an ad-hoc and contractual basis. Alongside general haulage we also have a container logistics department which has grown steadily over the last 18 months
The company is now seeking a sales representative to work alongside the transport planning team and accounts office to increase revenue from both existing customers and new customers. The company has the potential to operate up to 50 tractor units and trailers across both its own fleet and a number of dedicated subcontractors.
Based at our office in Walsall, West Midlands and travelling across the UK you will be responsible for working with existing customers and targeting new business to utilise our fleet of vehicles. The target market is primarily container haulage and experience in the container logistics/shipping industry is highly desirable. Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Liaising with existing customers regarding any service issues
- Servicing the needs of existing customers.
- Arranging monthly/quarterly reviews with customers
- Sending marketing information to potential customers
- Arranging meetings with new customers
- Targeting business in the general haulage, sameday haulage, van work, container logistics and storage sectors
- Attend relevant sales meetings, functions, conferences, shows or exhibitions.
- Promoting the company at relevant trade exhibitions
- Enhancing existing revenue streams and developing new ones
- Turning leads into sales
- Developing strategies to increase the company's online presence
- Developing strategies to increase company exposure via social media
- Maintaining a database of rates and ensure they are updated in line with company gross profit expectations
- Monitoring customer credit accounts and working with accounts office to identify issues/concerns
The successful candidate will require -
- Excellent communication skills
- Ideally experience in a logistics sales role (office and field based)
- The ability to achieve realistic sales targets
- Excellent numeracy/literacy and IT skills
- Field based experience
- Sound geographical knowledge of the UK
- A full clean driving licence
