About The Role



We're a fast-growing wholesaler that specialises in supplying the catering and hospitality trade and we're looking for a sharp, motivated individual to join our small customer service team.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that sits at the centre of our operations -- perfect for someone commercially aware, customer-focused and ready to get stuck in.

What You'll Be Doing:



You'll take ownership of customer orders and enquiries, supporting our sales function and making commercially smart decisions throughout the process. Key responsibilities include:

Processing orders from our website, phone and email -- making fulfilment decisions (stock or drop-ship) based on lead times, margins and stock levels. Raising purchase orders, liaising with suppliers and keeping customers informed on delays, deliveries and options. Taking phone orders, raising sales orders, recording payments and managing every detail to ensure smooth, accurate order flow. Checking profit margins, applying sensible discounts where appropriate to close deals, and upselling or recommending alternatives and accessories. Managing relationships with key accounts -- handling enquiries, quotations and pro forma invoices. Reporting on back orders, lost sales, and order issues to management.

What We're Looking For:



A commercially sharp mindset -- you'll understand the importance of margins, know when to offer discounts, and spot sales opportunities. Experience in a similar order processing, sales support or customer service role. Strong time management and attention to detail -- you'll be handling product codes, payments, and logistics where accuracy really matters. Excellent communication skills -- keeping customers updated, raising issues with the team, and working closely with colleagues to deliver results. A proactive approach -- this isn't a role where you wait to be told. You'll be encouraged to take initiative, take responsibility and make a visible impact. Familiarity with Sage 200, Excel and Outlook is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Pay: 28,000.00-30,000.00 per year
