As a Self Assessment Team Member, you will play a key role in ensuring our clients' tax returns are managed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with HMRC regulations. Your key responsibilities will include:

Allocations:

Efficiently allocating payments and tax-related transactions to ensure accurate and timely processing of self-assessments.

Calculations:

Conducting detailed calculations related to self-assessment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.

Client Communication:

Professionally liaising with clients to address any self-assessment queries, offering advice and clarifications in a clear and responsive manner.

Submissions to HMRC:

Preparing and submitting self-assessment tax returns on behalf of clients, ensuring all information is accurate, complete, and submitted within the required deadlines.

Enquiries:

Handling client enquiries regarding self-assessment and tax-related issues, offering practical and accurate solutions.

Maintain Client List & Records:

Keeping client records well-organised, up-to-date, and easily accessible for future reference or review.

Maintain Trackers:

Regularly updating internal trackers to monitor the progress of tax returns, payments, and other related tasks, ensuring nothing is overlooked.

Raising Invoices:

Generating invoices for services rendered, ensuring accuracy in billing and timely submission to clients.

Self Assessment Related Letters:

Drafting and sending client letters related to self-assessment matters, ensuring clear communication and professionalism at all times.

Email Management:

Managing and responding to email correspondence related to self-assessment matters, ensuring prompt and professional communication.

Support Complex Director Self Assessments:

Providing support in managing complex director-level self-assessments, ensuring all required information is collected and processed correctly.

Ideal Experience:



Familiarity with Capium or other accounting software, with experience in managing self-assessment processes. Previous experience working within corporate or company accounts, with a solid understanding of tax processes and compliance.

Essential Skills & Experience:



Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Word. A minimum of intermediate knowledge in MS Excel, including skills in VLOOKUPs, IF statements, and Pivot Tables. Previous experience in a professional office environment, with an ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues alike.
