Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our educational team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children with diverse learning needs, including those with autism and disabilities. The role involves working closely with teachers, children, and families to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational activities to children with special educational needs. Provide one-on-one support to pupils with autism, disabilities, or behavioural challenges. Support children's social and emotional development through positive interaction and encouragement. Aid in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behavioural strategies. Supervise children during classroom activities, breaks, and outings to ensure safety and engagement. Foster a nurturing environment that promotes confidence, independence, and participation among pupils. Support with toddler care routines where applicable, including feeding, toileting, and sensory activities. Communicate effectively with children, parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
Requirements

Experience working with children in educational or care settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of special education needs (SEN), particularly working with children with autism or disabilities. Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with young learners and colleagues. Ability to work well as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and understanding when supporting children with diverse needs. Prior experience in toddler care or working with young children is advantageous but not essential. A genuine passion for supporting children's development and learning outcomes.
