SEN Learning Support Assistant.

This position is for 30 hours per week and is fixed-term until August 2027 in the first instance. The actual salary is

17,033

, based on 38 weeks of work with less than five years of service.

Job Overview



The role of SEN Learning Support Assistant is both rewarding and challenging, but you will be well supported. You will play a pivotal role in supporting children across the school with a range of SEND needs and other barriers to learning, both within the classroom and in tailored one-to-one settings.

Working closely with the class teacher, you will help facilitate learning, adapt teaching approaches as needed, and foster a positive environment where every child feels understood and valued.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with the planning, preparation, and delivery of lesson content; preparing resources to support learning activities; and providing pastoral support to pupils. Additionally, you will contribute to evaluating pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure that all learners' needs are met.

The post holder will work under the direction of the

SENDCo

to support specific pupils in their learning.

Job Requirements:



A minimum of three GCSEs at grade C or above (including English and Maths) - desirable A Teaching Assistant qualification - desirable Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson delivery to achieve positive learning outcomes Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside teaching staff The ability to be empathetic and understanding of pupils' individual needs
