We are seeking a highly experienced SEN Tutor to support a 7-year-old child with a PDA profile of autism. The student is non-verbal with emerging speech and has a particular need for specialist support in the ASD bracket.
The role will involve delivering engaging, individualised learning across the primary curriculum, while working closely with a team of therapists to ensure continuity and consistency of support. This is a long-term programme, as the student will not be returning to school in the near future.
Key Responsibilities
Use strategies suited to PDA, ASD, and non-verbal communication to build trust and engagement. Support the development of emerging speech and communication skills. Liaise with therapists and integrate their approaches into sessions.
About You
Significant experience working with children with PDA, ASD, and complex SEN. Skilled at adapting lessons creatively to maintain engagement. Knowledge of communication systems and supporting non-verbal learners. Background as a Primary Generalist preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 40.00-50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 per week
Work Location: In person
