We are seeking a compassionate, calm, and dependable
SEN Support Assistant
to join our team and work closely with a
Year 5 pupil
who has epilepsy or seizure-related health conditions. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child's school experience, ensuring both safety and emotional security.
About the Role
You will:
Provide
1:1 in-class support
, monitoring the pupil's health and emotional needs throughout the school day.
Offer calm and responsive assistance during any health episodes, collaborating with the school's medical and safeguarding teams.
Create a nurturing and inclusive environment to support learning, engagement, and well-being.
Act as a liaison between the pupil, teaching staff, and parents/carers.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience
supporting children or young people with
epilepsy or other medical needs
(not essential - training will be provided).
A
calm and confident approach
, especially in health-related or emergency situations.
Excellent communication skills
, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and external professionals.
A strong sense of responsibility and emotional resilience.
Qualifications & Support
Previous experience in a school or care setting is desirable but not required.
Full training on epilepsy awareness and emergency protocols will be provided.
Ongoing professional development and mentoring opportunities are available.
