About the Role
This full-time, long-term position is ideal for someone who thrives in a nurturing environment and is confident supporting children with
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
and other complex learning needs. You will play a vital role in helping pupils engage with the curriculum through tailored support strategies.
Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils using Makaton and PECS.
Collaborate with class teachers and SENCO to implement and adapt individual education plans (IEPs).
Assist with classroom management and ensure a positive, structured learning environment.
Record and report on pupil progress and liaise with parents and external professionals as needed.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant in an SEN or primary setting.
Proficiency in Makaton and PECS is essential.
A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting children.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
A current enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
