A well-established mainstream setting in Barnet is seeking a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to join their Year 3 team from September.

This is a dual-role position, offering a unique blend of one-to-one and general classroom support.

1:1 Support Role:

You will work closely with a verbal, engaging child with ASD who is performing well at the expected academic level. The primary focus will be to provide gentle support around:

Navigating social interactions Managing transitions and changes to routine
There are no behavioural concerns. The child is not violent and communicates confidently, making this a rewarding opportunity for someone with sensitivity and enthusiasm.

General Year 3 Support:

When not working 1:1, you will be assisting the teacher by:

Supporting students who need help breaking down tasks Working with individuals and small groups needing academic support Applying initiative to address mild additional needs within the class
What We're Looking For:

A confident communicator with strong skills in English and Maths Experience or strong interest in supporting children with additional needs Someone reliable, calm under pressure, and adaptable to changing classroom dynamics
