We are seeking a committed and compassionate

SEN Tutor

to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning for pupils with

complex needs and challenging behaviours

.

Key Responsibilities

Promote pupil engagement, positive behaviour and learning in line with school policies Implement trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to support social and emotional development Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external professionals Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Staff Code of Conduct Comply fully with safeguarding policies and procedures, reporting concerns promptly Foster a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment Support pupils' emotional, behavioural and wellbeing needs Support classroom organisation and preparation of resources Assist with the smooth running of classroom routines

Essential

Experience supporting children or young people in an education or care setting Awareness of safeguarding, SEND and behaviour management principles Strong communication and teamwork skills Patience, empathy, adaptability and a positive attitude Commitment to professional conduct, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Desirable

Experience working with pupils with SEND and complex needs Experience in trauma-informed or therapeutic settings Knowledge of social and emotional learning approaches Willingness to work towards QTS/QTLS as part of professional development

We are a small school which effectively supports children through their educational journey. Our pupils may have previously experienced significant and prolonged periods of disengagement and/or disaffection in their education.
