We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Youth Worker to join our team. Working in our two SEN youth clubs in Westbury on a Monday evening and Warminster on a Friday evening 16:30-18:30hrs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and young people, providing support, guidance, and mentorship with a minimum of 1 years experience of working with children or young people. This role is crucial in helping youth navigate their challenges and develop essential life skills. The Youth Worker will engage with individuals in various settings, fostering a safe and positive environment for personal growth and development.
Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one mentoring and support to children and young people, assisting them in overcoming personal challenges.
Develop and implement educational programmes that promote social skills, emotional well-being, and personal development.
Facilitate group activities that encourage teamwork, communication, and problem-solving among youth.
Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress reports for each individual under your care.
Advocate for the needs of young people within the community, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and support services.
Qualifications
Experience of at least 1 years experience of working with children or young people.
A background in youth work or special education is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with young individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with youth, families, and colleagues.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
Commitment to promoting a safe environment that respects the dignity of all individuals.
Relevant qualifications in youth work or education would be an advantage but are not mandatory.
