A friendly and inclusive primary school in Stowmarket are looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant (TA/LSA) to provide support to a small group of 4 pupils. The children are on the SEND register and are awaiting assessment/EHCP's. The pupil's display characteristics associated with ADHD, so we are seeking someone with proven experience in supporting children with ADHD. You should be confident in implementing effective behaviour management strategies and fostering positive learning experiences. The children demonstrate low engagement and challenging behaviours, including absconding from the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver tailored support for a small group of children in a Year 1 classroom. Use positive behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement and reduce disruptive behaviour. Support social, emotional, and academic development in line with SEND best practice. Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent progress.

Essential Skills & Experience

Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in a primary school. Strong understanding of ADHD strategies, behaviour management, and safeguarding. Ability to remain calm, patient, and proactive in challenging situations. A passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Requirements

Right to work in the UK A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one). A minimum of GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 (C)

Pay: 97.68-122.81 per day

Expected hours: 13 - 32.5 per week
