Senior Accounts Assistant
Worcester based with a balance of home and office working
30,549 per year
35 hours per week
Temporary position for up to 12 months
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accounts Assistant to join our Property Services Accounting team based in Worcester. As a Senior Accounts Assistant, you will predominantly be responsible for supporting the reconciliation of maintenance and compliance accounts to ensure income and expenditure is appropriately accounted for, supporting in the month end delivery of the accounts. The ideal candidate will come from a finance background and will possess excellent data analysis skills, be proficient with Microsoft Excel and be able to work independently on tasks.
The role of Senior Accounts Assistant will include:

• Reviewing invoice backing and ensuring these are correctly accounted for, using large data sets.
• Processing of the material trade card spend for the operation
• Reviewing monthly management accounts, and ensuring income and costs are recorded accurately.
• Preparation of Recodes, prepayments and accrual journals

• Communicating effectively and maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders
• Providing an effective administration service ensuring workloads are manageable in line with business requirements

• Identifying areas for improvement and shortfalls in service delivery and recommending actions to remedy this, as appropriate

Skills and experiences:

• AAT part/ fully qualified, or equivalent level of qualification or be working towards this
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications with proven Excel analysis skills using a variety of functions and formulas

• Previous experience in a similar transactional finance role along with strong analytical skills is essential
• The ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workloads

• Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
• Highly organised, with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
• Previous experience using SAP would be an advantage
