IET London: Savoy Place

At the IET, making our world a better place starts by creating a better place for our people. At the IET you'll have more than just a job. Our work is exciting and challenging, connecting the people who solve the problems that matter. It means working with us has real meaning and impact, and you'll grow - professionally and personally - in ways you never thought possible. We're also making significant investments in our people, including providing a modern, vibrant workplace

What you'll be doing

As our Senior Audio Visual Technician, you'll take the lead in overseeing daily AV operations at IET London: Savoy Place, setting the standard for seamless technical delivery across high-profile meetings, conferences, and live events.

You'll assign and manage daily tasks across the AV team, ensuring smooth setup and operation of AV, lighting, staging, IPTV, and production services. Acting as the on-the-floor team lead, you'll support everything from digital displays to filming and streaming with IET.tv, all while maintaining stock, safeguarding AV assets, and ensuring the highest standards of customer service.

You'll be the go-to contact for AV event planning in the absence of management, supervise third-party contractors, oversee AV bookings, and support with invoicing. With a keen eye on quality and safety, you'll help coach and guide the team, lead on health and safety compliance, and help drive innovation in how we deliver events.

If you love AV, enjoy and are ready to make an impact at one of London's most iconic venues, this could be your next big move.

What we hope you can bring to the role

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on AV professional who can confidently lead and run AV events like clockwork whilst supporting both our clients and more junior team members. You'll have a strong background in AV operations, lighting and stage setup, as well as experience with conferencing and streaming technologies.

You'll bring the technical know-how, from projectors and switchers to DMX lighting and digital signage, alongside strong leadership and people skills. You'll be great at solving problems under pressure, guiding others with confidence, and staying calm when things get busy.

You'll also need a working knowledge of health and safety regulations, AV-specific risk assessments, and a solid understanding of client service and venue operations (and if you've ever led AV delivery across multiple rooms or built branding structures using BeMatrix frames - even better!).

We'd love to get to know you

Is Imposter syndrome creeping in? Don't worry - we'd rather hear from you this time than not hear from you at all! Read on for a little more information about the role.
