Senior Care Assistant/Care Assistant (Hybrid Role)

.

The candidate must be reliable and fully competent in all aspects of providing care and support to our elderly residents. We want someone proactive, passionate, and ambitious to support us in creating the best person-centred environment for our residents. You'll be genuinely valued and empowered as an integral part of our team.

JOB PURPOSE:



To provide high-quality personal and clinical care to residents while also supervising care staff and ensuring that all care practices adhere to required standards. Promote and protect the dignity, independence, and rights of all residents, and lead by example in upholding professional values.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES



Care Provision



Assist residents with daily living tasks: washing, dressing, eating, toileting, mobility, and personal hygiene Provide care for residents with specific needs: incontinence, visual/hearing impairments, limited mobility, end-of-life care Encourage and promote resident independence and self-help Monitor the physical and emotional condition of residents and report any concerns Accompany residents to medical appointments when required

Medication & Clinical Duties



Administer medications and maintain accurate records Liaise with healthcare professionals, GPs, and pharmacies Recognise and respond to health deterioration or emergency situations Monitor residents' vital signs and manage personal or clinical risks

Supervision & Leadership



Supervise and support care assistants in daily tasks Provide handovers and delegate tasks effectively Offer constructive feedback and address performance issues Act as a point of contact in the absence of management Liaise with agencies to cover shifts as needed

Documentation & Communication



Maintain and contribute to individual care plans Write daily care records and reports Attend and facilitate staff, resident, and family meetings Keep family members informed of relevant changes in the residents' condition

Professional



Experience in the care industry is essential NVQ Level 3 in Care (or actively working towards this qualification) Satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check and references

Experience



Demonstrate leadership and ability to supervise care staff Ability to communicate effectively at all levels Genuine interest in & at least 2 years of experience working with the elderly Understanding of Health & Safety issues in residential care, and risk assessments

General



A positive attitude toward older people and a commitment to promoting the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment for all residents, and to treating everyone with respect Be an excellent team player & demonstrate commitment to working for Auden House Must be able to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills. Willingness to undertake relevant training
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 13.20-15.00 per hour
