We are transforming how we market the Motorpoint Arena and are looking for progressive and creative marketing professionals to join us on the journey - might that be you?
We are a vibrant, 10,000 capacity live entertainment venue in the heart of Nottingham that for 25 years has hosted world-class shows across music, comedy, family, arts, and sports. From Kylie, to Peter Kay, to Disney, to Panthers ice hockey and Forest Netball - no two days are the same.
Our sister venue is the National Ice Centre, where our community comes together for ice sports across figure, synchro and speed skating, and ice hockey. Whether you're a family enjoying skating for fun, or a budding professional gliding in the footsteps our local heroes Torvill and Dean, we provide the UK's best ice sports experience.
We welcome over one million people a year from all walks of life - our marketing team is responsible for engaging with our visitors from the start to the end of their experience with our venues, encouraging them to visit again, and finding new audiences to enjoy our shows.
Job description
We are looking for a Senior Creative Designer to lead the design of all our creative output across the Motorpoint Arena and National Ice Centre.
You will report to the Head of Marketing & Communications in a key role that demands both strategic thinking and operational execution, and a core skillset spanning graphic design, videography, and photography.
Creatively, we are seeking a story-teller who can integrate words, pictures, video, and sound to create compelling content that makes our customers continuously engage with our venues.
You will work with the Head of Marketing and Communications on our brand strategy and positioning that will inform all our communications.
You will be directly responsible for leading a refresh and continuous improvement of the visual identity of our venues, the Motorpoint Arena and the National Ice Centre, plus the bespoke propositions for our premium hospitality experiences, Food & Beverage (F&B) and Meetings & Events (M&E) functions, and internal communications.
At an executional design level, you will be responsible for the design of all our off and online communications, such as:
digital assets, e.g. screens, social media (organic and paid-for marketing), websites, e-mails, scoreboards, etc
print assets, such as posters, flyers, perimeter advertising, premiums, food wrappers, etc
internal and external signage at the Motorpoint Arena and National Ice Centre
Digital screens will form a major part of your role - we have a growing inventory of over 100 screens that require strategic thought and oversight and high-volume daily design throughput, including the application of menu psychology to drive F&B sales.
You will have an experienced Graphic Designer reporting to you that will allow you to allocate our design and content resources to match the demands of the business.
What are we looking for?
Like all good creatives, you will have a curious mind and continually think about how customers engage with all forms of communication.
You will be equally comfortable designing work as creating video content and photography that showcases the thrilling excitement at our venues - and have extensive experience of using all relevant software and tools.
You will be familiar with taking briefs from internal departments and working collaboratively in guiding them to strategic marketing solutions. Likewise, you will have extensive experience of working with external agencies, from creative through to execution.
Being a designer, you will take pride in your attention to detail and be comfortable in challenging things that are not correct. You will have strong ownership and pride in your work.
We're a nimble, streamlined team who thrive on working under pressure in a live events environment, so, most importantly, you will be a team player who is at ease working collaboratively with colleagues in the Marketing and Communications team, and across all other functions of the business.
