We need to evolve the role of our Senior Learning Business Partners to reflect the growing imperative to bring talent and learning activity together to ensure we are best placed to provide the right development to the right people at the right time to deliver outstanding client and employee engagement results.
Our Senior Learning Business Partners are the critical two-way link between the business and our Talent and Learning teams in driving our development agenda. The Head of T&D Business Partnering will play a key role in standing up the refreshed scope of this team and maximizing the impact a deeper focus on talent and development can have with on the business.

Aligning with firm-wide growth initiatives, such as strategic workforce planning, the Head of the T&D BP team will support the Business Partners in translating the impact of these ambitions on the talent and development agenda in each of the Businesses.

The Head of T&D BP team will collaborate with the team as well as the wider HR function and Business stakeholders to shape the function to provide the maximum value from activities such as:

  • Operationalizing the firm-wide talent strategy at a Business level
  • Using data driven insights to inform strategic talent plans for each Business
  • Supporting the Business Learning Needs Analysis process to inform strategic capability development needs
  • Strategic learning planning to enable core competence, future skills requirements, and the successful deployment of different talent models
  • Reporting to the HRD Learning, this is a great opportunity to play an essential role in the ongoing evolution of the Talent and Learning Team. By building trusted advisor relationships with Directors and Partners within HR and in the business, you will help to position Talent and Learning as a key differentiator in achieving business goals.

Strategic planning
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with senior leaders in the Business and the Business learning teams, helping build the value and business impact from strategic talent and development insights and actions
  • Perform Talent and Development Business Partner activities should there be gaps in service provision
  • Collaborate and build trusted relationships across HR, and with all those involved in the people agenda in the business so there is alignment of intent and activity
  • Not afraid to challenge where appropriate
  • Represent Talent and Development Business Partnering at relevant meetings
  • Ensure that the talent and development needs of the Business are represented firm wide in our Talent and Learning activities and plans
  • Team Lead
  • Exceptional team lead capabilities, able to have the vision to stand up a new/enhance function whilst managing BAU activity.
  • Supporting and coaching the current Business Partners as they evolve the T&D BP role with their Business and HR stakeholders
  • Supporting the BPs with Business stakeholder activity should this be needed
  • Providing a single point of contact for the T&D BP function with a focus on increasing consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness across the role.
  • You would be a great fit for this role if you:
  • Have professional training / HR development / education qualifications in a relevant area
  • Have experience at senior manager level and have a proven track record in core HR competencies and business partnering, and exposure to the associated risks
  • Have experience in talent strategy, and of partnering with the business to progress the talent agenda
  • Are adept at communicating, influencing, coaching, educating, challenging, and managing senior stakeholders
  • Have strong financial management / commercial acumen
  • Can understand and develop effective T&D and OD strategies while understanding the implications from a culture, business success and company practice standpoint
  • Can translate client business needs into realistic and achievable plans in collaboration with other stakeholders
  • Can provide leadership, work collaboratively, and consult effectively and independently with senior levels of the organization
  • Have proven team leadership and management skills and ability to create a high performing, motivating, supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Possess well-developed verbal and written communication skills to address diverse organizational stakeholders at all levels
  • Have experience or exposure to project management principles
  • Have experience working in a matrix organisation
