About the Role:
We're looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join a growing, forward-thinking Mechanical and Electrical contractor based in Falkirk. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the company's continued expansion-leading the mechanical estimating process and helping deliver high-quality projects across commercial, healthcare, education, and industrial sectors.
You'll take ownership of the mechanical estimating function, producing accurate and competitive tenders while working closely with design, commercial, and project teams to deliver cost-effective, value-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed tenders and cost estimates for mechanical installations and refurbishments.
Perform take-offs and build structured estimates aligned with project scope.
Interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules to produce accurate cost models.
Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and review quotations.
Assess project risks and provide value-engineering recommendations.
Support bid strategies, presentations, and client discussions pre- and post-tender.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless project handovers and compliance.
What We're Looking For:
3+ years' experience in mechanical estimating within the building services sector.
Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and on-screen take-off estimating software.
Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines under pressure.
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
