Job Purpose



The Senior Risk Practitioner leads the design and delivery of project and corporate risk services, acts as a key advisor to clients, and mentors junior staff. The role combines technical depth, stakeholder engagement, and leadership capability to influence strategic decisions and project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities



Lead client-facing risk engagements across project lifecycles Reporting line for allocated risk practitioner/s Facilitate risk identification, analysis, and response strategy workshops Deliver complex qualitative and quantitative risk assessments Design and operate risk models (M Cs's, Arm, Safran, cost/schedule analysis) Produce dashboards, reports, and recommendations for senior stakeholders Mentor and support the professional development of junior team members Champion best practices and continuous improvement in risk processes Contribute to internal training, tool development, and thought leadership

Required Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Risk, Engineering, Project Management, or similar Knowledge of risk management frameworks (e.g. ISO 9001 QMS, 31000 Managing risks,27001 Security management, MoR) 3+ years of experience in risk or project environments Proficiency in one or more risk software tools & innovation (e.g., ARM, Safran, PRA @Risk, Data Analysis) Demonstrable experience in workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement Deep understanding of risk governance, project controls, and assurance frameworks

Desirable



Sector experience in nuclear, aviation, or other regulated industries Experience with commercial risk, decision theory, or portfolio risk Professional certifications (IRM, PMI-RP, APM, etc.)

Probationary Period



Duration:

Onboarding Plan (First 6 Months)



Month 1-2:



Strategic induction, review of optimise's framework and client approach Assignment to key projects with oversight Introduction to team, tools, and methodologies

Month 3-4:



Independent delivery of workstreams with regular feedback Co-lead workshops and contribute to mentoring Begin internal development contributions (e.g., innovation, training, and client work)

Month 5-6:



Lead full risk engagements independently Deliver value-added presentations to clients Probation review and role pathway planning
