Senior Children's Support Worker - Manchester


Full-time & Part-time hours available

Are you an experienced support worker ready to step into leadership? We're looking for a

Senior Children's Support Worker

to join our team in Manchester. You'll be supporting children and young people with

mild learning disabilities (LD)

and

challenging behaviour

, helping them to feel safe, valued, and supported.

This is a rewarding role where you'll make a real difference in the lives of young people, while also guiding colleagues and ensuring the highest standards of care in line with Ofsted requirements.

What you'll be doing:



Providing safe, nurturing care and daily support for children and young people Leading shifts, supervising colleagues, and acting as a positive role model Supporting education, health, and meaningful activities Implementing behaviour support strategies and responding calmly to challenging situations Maintaining accurate records and care plans Ensuring safeguarding and regulatory standards are met at all times

About you:



Experience working with children/young people with LD and challenging behaviour (essential) Leadership skills with the ability to guide and support colleagues Calm, resilient, and child-centred approach Strong communication and organisational skills Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it within 2 years Enhanced DBS required
