That's why we are looking for a passionate, motivated Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Loughborough, helping us to maintain a warm and caring atmosphere for our children.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Support Worker, you will act as a role model and 'parent' to the children and young people in our care, helping them to develop life skills and improving their overall health and well-being. You will be responsible for leading shifts, supervising staff, and ensuring the effective running of the home.
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, proactive, and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for the effective and efficient running of shifts, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the home.
Assist management in developing the skills and potential of residential support workers.
Supervise, mentor, and develop the skills of staff in their daily practice.
Deputise in the absence of management as required.
Maintain accurate and compliant records in line with childcare practices, company policies, and children's regulations.
Promote the welfare, safety, and well-being of young people, ensuring their needs are met in a caring and supportive environment.
Contribute to the development and review of individual placement plans.
Support effective partnerships with parents, families, and external agencies.
Ensure a safe and healthy environment by following Health and Safety, Fire Safety, and Food Hygiene procedures.
Participate in the rota system and be available for sleep-in duties when required.
Take on ad hoc tasks and contribute to the development of the service as required.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.
Provide ongoing support to colleagues and be a positive team member.
What We're Looking For:
A caring, empathetic, and professional attitude with a passion for working with children and young people.
NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) is essential.
Experience in residential care and managing shifts.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Ability to work flexibly, including participating in a shift rota and sleep-in duties.
A satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check is required.
Ability to undertake physical intervention if required, following the appropriate training.
