We are seeking a
Senior Residential Care Worker
with the strength, resilience, and empathy to support a young person with complex needs in a solo home, while leading and mentoring a dedicated care team.
About the Role:
This is a pivotal role in a high-needs placement, where you'll provide day-to-day care and lead by example, creating a stable, nurturing environment for a young person requiring intensive support. You'll ensure safe and effective support through therapeutic practice and team leadership, promoting a strong, values-led culture in the home.
Key Responsibilities:
Solo Provision Oversight:
Support a newly placed young person in a one-to-one solo setting, ensuring high levels of emotional and physical safety.
Therapeutic & Trauma-Informed Practice:
Use your experience to implement trauma-informed strategies that promote trust, recovery, and emotional growth.
Physical Intervention & De-escalation:
Safely manage crisis situations using recognised de-escalation and intervention techniques.
Mental Health & Behavioural Support:
Understand and respond effectively to behaviours linked to trauma, attachment difficulties, and mental health needs.
Team Leadership:
Guide and support the staff team through supervision, shift leadership, mentoring, and rota management.
Professional Collaboration:
Work closely with social workers, therapists, and external agencies to ensure integrated, child-centred care.
Quality & Compliance:
Maintain high standards of record-keeping, safeguarding, and health & safety across the home.
What We're Looking For:
Experience in complex care
, including mental health, physical intervention/restraint, and therapeutic environments.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (business insurance required).

Residential Childcare: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (preferred)
